There has always been this part of me that loves to create and take pictures. As a child I collected stickers and stationary with all kinds of patterns and colors. Diaries were my best friends...not only did they hold my most precious secrets...but it was a place for me to let loose and decorate the way I wanted. They just made me so happy.
As a teen, I started putting pictures and words together in little albums...hmmm...maybe that’s why I liked yearbook class so much. The photos and words told a little story. This was all before I ever knew this need to create was called “scrapbooking”. It was just fun and inside of me...that need to color, write, and make stuff. I just loved every part of it.
I lost it as I got older... life settled into a routine. Then one day in the year 2000, I walked into a Michael’s and seriously the rest is history.
My focus has shifted a bit when it comes to this craft of mine. Yes...i do love all of the products, who wouldn’t. They just make my pages more personable. I have “met” some amazing people that inspire me on a daily basis. But what I really love now is the ability to write little love notes to my husband and daughters. To get down the memories that slip so easily from my mind. To remind them (and myself) about the little things that makes us happy, sad, scared, excited and proud. To let them know how much they mean to me. [journaling entry]
I've been playing along this month on a creative adventure with the lovely and ever so talented Shimelle. She posted a creative adventure for the month of January to come up with a way to document "This is Why I Scrapbook." I found her post on this very subject so interesting.
You see, i've lost some creative energy towards the last few weeks in December. I've not touched a crafty supply in a while and i've been itching to create but I just didn't want to make just anything.
Enter this lovely project and it was perfect for me to get my feet or should i say hands back in the game. I love this topic, especially after recently taking Ali's BPS class Yesterday&Today...this challenge has me really energized to pull out my photos and supplies.
So without further ado...here are THE REASONS WHY I SCRAPBOOK.
for me
for the cool supplies
for the memories

I was trying to figure out a way to make this mini a little home decor item that I can display. I've been hoarding this Junkitz Accordion Album for sometime now. I had this silly fear of using it for some reason...so it stayed hidden in the closet with my other mini books. I'm really happy that I decided to pull it out.
All products come from the June Studio Calico kit with the exception of the buttons, manila tags and the accordion album.
It feels good to complete a project. Now if only I can muster up some of this creative energy and finish my December Daily...it'll be all good.
