52 Weeks of Gratitude (catching up)

First and foremost, I want to Thank all of you for visiting and leaving love during our first ever CupCards {to go} blog hop! If you want to get in the drawing, make sure you visit this post.  You have through Friday to leave comments. Sonda will be drawing names on Saturday. 

At the beginning of the year, I decided to follow along with one of the most amazing people I have met on the net: Brenda Arnall (& friends) in an adventure to capture our gratitude in 52 weeks. I have since fallen behind in the documentation and have made myself a promise to get caught up in the next couple of weeks. I really love this gratitude album of mine and can't wait to see the whole thing come to fruition.

Here are some pages from weeks 8 and 10. And just in case you're wondering why they are out of order, I have no reason. I just documented a week when the feeling hit :)

I've been really successful in using up many of my scraps for these pages. However, for my week 10 page, I had to break out my 1st ever Studio Calico kit- March. I truly LOVE & ADORE this kit :)

Happy May {& Gratitude Pages}

First day of May and it's pouring here in Northern California! Love it! I'm not ready for the heat just yet! I'll savor this weekend! I know...call me crazy!

Anyway, Happy National Scrapbooking Day (tomorrow)! The internet is buzzing with celebrations; there are challenges galore that I've been taking part in; and my in-box is full of scrap goodness with sales everywhere. I seriously need to lock up my credit card...this weekend could be really dangerous!

I've decided to focus my energy on celebrating with Studio Calico and Paper Posies. The DT over at SC is hosting a slue of challenges for tomorrow's big scrapfest. These challenges are seriously amazing and some taking me out of my comfort zone. SO FUN!

And if you don't know...Paper Posies is turning 4 years old and the DT has some awesome stuff up thier sleeves. They'll be celebrating all month long! And from what I hear, there will be lots of prizes. Make sure you head on over there.

Oh yeah! CupCards {to go} May kit went up for sale tonight and I just have to say that this is my favorite kit yet! The gallery is seriously smokin'! There are some great Mother's Day ideas!

I have been so behind on my Gratitude Album but I've decided to suck it up and just keep moving' forward. The pages i'll be sharing are out of order but at this point, I'm so happy they are done. I'll be continuing to update it and hopefully I can start creating pages that are more immediate in my life.

Yellow Inspiration_Day 1 {and Gratitude Pages}

 

I'm joining Erin from House on Hill Road in a journey of yellow inspiration this week. And if you knew me, like I mean really knew me, yellow is just NOT my color. But with the last few dreary days, I could sure use some color in my life. So with my eyes wide open and my camera in tow, I will be on the lookout for YELLOW. Oh...by the way..the Tea in the picture above comes from here. This is Dre's Aunt's store located is Colorado. My favorite is the Honey Ginseng!

Finally going to post my Gratitude Pages for Week 3 & Week 4:

Week 3- Grateful for Family Friday Nights. I made a pocket on the back to hold my journaling (i think I may continue to use this same concept like i did for my Week 1 page).

 

   

Week 4- I received two wonderful surprises from my friends. One whom I've known at work for the last 6 years and the other person is my best scrappin' buddy. The pocket holds the emails that I received from both of them.

Gratitude Project {the beginning}

So I'm joining in with many other people to document the things or memories that I'm thankful for each week. Brenda Arnall was the creative genious behind this idea. I just love her blog. So much goodness to inspire a person. I finally figured out how I wanted to document my weekly gratitude entries: 6X12 layouts. I've only created a few of these and I love the size and shape. Enough to fit some photos, journaling and embellies. The 6x12 D-ring album is from American Crafts. Love the texture and the feel of the corduroy.

Introduction page-This page was inspired by Christine Middlecamp ( who was inspired by Ali E.). I love the circle border and I was able to dig into my paper scraps. I can see future pages with this same concept.

 

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who

Week 1- I focused on my little one who had a difficult time transitioning back into the school and homework routine. I made a pocket on the back of the layout to hold the journaling tag. This page came together fairly easy, being that it takes me forever to make a layout.

Week 2- My journaling for this entry is below. The scallop border on the layout is from Making Memories Sabrina line. You can't tell from the photo but the border has a glitter sparkly look.  If you have a Michael's near you, head on over there before it's all gone.

 

Journaling: Grateful for friends who know how to make your day. I came home from a seriously crazy work week and found these beauties on my kitchen counter. I just love looking at them. Thank you Nikki

Although it's early in the year, doing this project really has made me more aware of the everyday little things. I'm more concious about the things that I do or the things that happen to me; and the best part is I can capture the moment in a photograph. This project also has me digging out product that I've been hoarding or forgot about {lol}. Love that feeling!
