spring garden:: rudolf steiner college

Through my work in Early Childhood Education, I get the opportunity to attend professional development workshops around the state. Luckily this workshop happened in my own backyard.

The location: Rudolf Steiner College campus. Although the workshop had nothing to do with their philosophy...it was the perfect location for a training.

I've often passed this college many times as well as purchased items at their bookstore for varying reasons, but on this very day, I was able to walk the grounds during the break.

This campus has an amazing garden that is tended by the staff, community volunteers (and sometimes the children) of the campus. There are benches in little alcoves of the grounds. A nice little get-away from all of the stuff that happens on a daily basis.

I'm so glad that I had my camera with me to capture the beauty of this place. And since it's been so gray and rainy here...I needed a little bit of color to add to my week.

**Inspired by CupCards (to go) July kit. I'm starting to get into the groove of cardmaking and I especially love that we've been giving them away more to friends and family. I thought I'd share another quick peek before kits reveal tomorrow, July 1, 2010 at 6:00pm (pst).

***Inspired by Ali Edwards' Stories of Summer series -  I'm loving all of the different traditions that people have and the mediums that they are using to capture their summer. The summer journals I made for my girls were featured in this post.

***Inspired by Molly Irwin's The Elements of Summer minibook. The cool watercolors, graphic feel and three elements she is focusing on are so amazing. I didn't intend to make a summer book but between Molly's mini and all of the inspiration on Ali's blog, I think I will be taking the plunge. Now is a better time more than any. Don't you think?

***Inspired by film photos again. I've been playing around with this lovely beauty, which belongs to my father-in-law. I'm still learning how to use it and will hopefully get a few photos that I love out of it.

One of my favorite blogs that I love to visit is Rachel Saldana's also known as Buttons Magee. She takes amazing photos and writes very lovely. Oh...how I long to take film photos like her. 

***Inspired by my good friend Wendy Sanchez who is breaking into the mixed media art scene. Wendy's art is currently on display at the Marco Fuoco Gallery in downtown Sacramento through the first week of July. It's so very cool!
